Recordings

Unlike other artistic pursuits such as painting, sculpture, writing, videography and at times, architecture, the performing arts are ephemeral, transient – lasting only as long as we are on the stage. Yes, they can exist in our memories, but the performances are inaccessible to all except ourselves.

When my brother, Scott, a master mechanic and craftsman, died in September of 2023, the many Diamond T trucks, and the Norton motorcycle remained as witnesses to his creativity, his hard work, and his pursuit of excellence. I realized that my work, the making of music at the piano, needed to be made permanent if I wanted others to know something about me and how I used some my time on this earth.

What follows are examples of a few of my favourite compositions – a small fraction, really. The list will continue to grow as I make more recordings. It is difficult to record. Unlike people, microphones hear everything. And finding the time to prepare the music to the level that I deem acceptable when I have still a busy teaching studio can be challenging. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy and appreciate some of what I have to offer.
